Nov 2013

This month has been dedicated to celebrating Quinn's 3rd birthday and preparing for the arrival of her baby brother.
Since we knew Quinn's baby brother would be arriving early December we had Quinn's birthday party late November. The theme, at her request, was princess. This included a princess jumpy house and a Repunzel cake she picked out.
Her Nana and good friend Danette also came into town at the end of November. She was delighted to have company, as usual.
We also went to a friends wedding where Quinn danced almost the entire time. She is quite the dancer!

October 2013

A couple of firsts this month:

Her first official haircut.  We've been letting her hair grow for almost 3 years.  Aside from a tiny little bit that was removed because of something sticky this was her first real haircut.  Her nana cut it for her and she did awesome.

Quinn has learned to whistle! Its still a little faint but definitely a whistle!  She's very proud of herself.

Additionally, Quinn thought Halloween was awesome!  She picked out her own costume this year, which was her favorite Rapunzel.  She couldn't believe that people were just handing candy out over and over again!  She was delighted.

Favorite songs lately:  Royals by Lorde, Roar by Katy Perry and Crocodile Rock by Elton John

Sept 2013

Quinn started the month with her first bowling experience. She got a 61. Her game included a strike also!
The biggest change for Quinn this month was saying goodbye to the nighttime bottle. She got to pick out 2 special princess nighttime sippies.  She resists bedtime a little more now but she's still doing great.

July 2013

Quinn highlights for July

We took at trip to Chicago to see family, enjoy the 4th of July and celebrate her cousin Chloe's birthday. She had a wonderful time.
She saw her 2nd movie, Despicable Me. She enjoyed it more than Monsters U and made it through the entire thing, fully engaged.
Quinn's auntie Emily also came back to CA with us to visit. Quinn loved having her auntie stay at her house.

June 2013

Quinn the big girl!

Quinn started sleeping in her big girl toddler bed this month. The transition has pretty much gone without a hitch. Only the occasional slinking off the bed to the floor.
To match, her furniture has been updated. Big girl dresser, big girl bookcase. She has been delighted.

Quinn also went to see her first movie in the movie theater. She saw Monsters University which she very much enjoyed. Above all she found out that popcorn is quite delicious!

She also started flying kites at the beach.

May 2013

Highlights of May for Miss Quinn -

Her first days with a local playgroup.  It's not a pre-school since she's not yet 3 but the experience is very similar.  For a few hours she gets to play with other kids her same age, reading books, doing art, signing songs and dancing silly dances.  She is thoroughly enjoying the experience so far and loves the playtime with other kids.

She visited a local petting zoo, a local ocean mammal rehabilitation center, the children's center at La Habra and became a member of the Santa Ana zoo.  This among her regular trips to the beach.

Her bestie, Luke, also visited her new house and we all spent the day at the beach together.  She was delighted!

April 2013

The biggest event for Quinn this month has been moving from Covina to Laguna Niguel.  She fondly refers to this house as, "the ocean house".  Its a big change for a little girl but so far she seems to be taking it in stride.  We look forward to enrolling her in some summer activities where she can make friends and start to settle into a new routine.
Otherwise, she got to go to SeaWorld for the first time.  She very much enjoyed all the animals.

March 2013

The primary milestone for Quinn this month was becoming potty trained.
She started about mid-month and was practically a pro within a few weeks.

Quinn also had another molar come in this month.  This means she only has one more tooth to go and all her baby teeth will have come in.  We'll all be thankful for that!

Quinn spent time at the beach this month, going to a couple birthday parties for friends.  She enjoyed Easter with coloring eggs, getting her Easter basket and hiding/finding eggs.

January 2013

Full statements abound.
At Quinn's 2 yr well check up with the pediatrician her Dr had given us his expectations for development at 3 yrs as well since we wouldn't need to come in until then.  One of those expectations Quinn has already met, sentences with 3-5 words.  These statements now revolve heavily around her expressing her feelings.  Some of the most common things we've heard this month are, "I like...xx" and "I miss ...".  Such as,  " I like the airplane park", "I like outside", "I like green beans", "I like Izzy, she's cute" and "I miss Nana and Papa", "I miss gymboree", "I miss my baba".
Some of her adventures this last month included more trips to the beach and fisherman's wharf and a trip to the aquarium.  She's also enrolled in play and music classes which she attends a few times a week.

December 2012

The busiest month for a Quinn!
First up, turning 2!  Stats - measuring in at 34 inches tall (58%), 30 lbs (85%) with a 49 cm head (86%).   As far as all the average markers for development for a 2 yr old (speech, cognition, etc), Quinn is well ahead of the game.  She's happy and healthy and thriving.
She had a fun bday party with a bouncy house and a group of friends on her birthday.
Following her bday, we took a nice trip to visit her family in IL.  She did a wonderful job on the airplane.  She thought take off and landing were especially fun.  She was saying, "Weeeeee, I flying, I flying."
She was delighted to be around everyone for the holidays..  She played in the snow, had tea parties with her cousins, met new relatives, and loved all the attention.  She was very busy and loved being a social butterfly.
On Christmas she was very excited about opening presents and kept asking for more.  Her favorite gift of all was simply a set of Peppa Pig figurines.
We also got to go to the zoo for New Years Eve.  They had a big light show and she enjoyed all the Christmas lights.
